We did a combined Teddy Bear Picnic birthday party for my 4 year old daughter and 2 year old son who both have their birthdays in July. We sent out invitations on red-checkered paper with a
bear template on top. We asked everyone to bring their own bear. When everyone arrived I had everyone decorate lunch bags with foam letters, hearts, and flowers. I had Teddy Grahams, cheese
cubes, and mini-blueberry muffins and juice boxes for snack. There was a red-checkered table cloth on the table with balloons around the party area. I had a huge Coca-Cola bear on the front
porch to greet party attendees. When everyone had arrived the doorbell rang and my sister was dressed up as a teddy-bear. (I had rented the costume for $25). Half of the children were
terrified while the other half were beyond excited. So, I had the children who wanted to see the bear go into the toy room where we had french doors that would close. My sister was awesome as
the teddy bear. She even drank a diet coke with a straw through the big red bear lips. It was hysterical. She gave the kids rides on her back and danced around and posed for pictures.
Meanwhile, I took the kids into the living room where I told the story of the three bears with props and a Goldilocks. I also had the kids hold the bear and participate in "We're going
on a Bear Hunt" book. Then, we did "Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear go upstairs.... For the picnic lunch, I had lunchables for the kids which was soooooooooooo handy to grab and go outside
where we ate on blankets spread out on the grass. I had Wet-one sterile wipes for all. I had croissants and chicken salad for the moms in attendance and ofcourse the Kristy-bear as everyone
called her. (She ate lunch with everyone where she was like a celebrity getting constantly petted now that her face mask was off and just had the hairy body). I made dirt (pudding with oreos
and gummy worms). For the cake I had cupcakes with sprinkles and a gummy saver on top with an individual candle for each kid. For party favors I had everyone hold out their lunch bag that
they had decorated, and I filled it with a bag of Teddy Grahams and Bearenstein Bear books.
