For my son's 2nd Birthday we had a Thomas the Train Theme.
I sent out Thomas store bought invitations that I have heard were a hit with all the kids. I ordered a cake with Thomas wind up toy that runs around a track. The paper goods were a mix of Thomas and red plates, napkins and cups. We had pizza and cake. I decorated with a mix of Thomas Balloons and primay color balloons, and I made posters of some of the colored pages from the Thomas website. As the guests were arriving they played in the "waiting area" where we have our train table set up. Then we made a human "choo choo" train and headed down to the basement. I had pop up Thomas toy they could ride and crawl in and out of. I also had a craft station set up with Thomas coloring pages and crayons. Also at the craft staion there were white painters hats(to resemble a conductors's hat)that I put each child's name on the rim with foam letters. Each child was able to decorate the hats with dot paints. Then we played the Thomas and Friends CD and when the "Let's Have A Race" Song came on we had a little race around the room while pretending to be choo choo trains. Then we ate pizza and cake. Each child left with a goodie bag. The bags were paper red gift bags tht I had glued a black cut out train on with a #2 sticker on the side. Each bag had the child's name on it with foam letters. Inside I put a plastic Thomas train whisle, Thomas horn blower, Thomas bubbles, a red bandana and thomas Stickers. They were also able to put their conductors hats in them to take home.
