for my son's 2nd birthday, I had a very easy fun but creative Thomas the tank party. I made invitations from copy and pasting his party ware from birthday express to my home publishing
software.
I did all the cute sayings, all aboard ..... celebration of hayden's second birthday destination: arrival date: board: depart: RSVP: the station master. coming out of Thomas's smoke stake instead of toot toot, I put two two. I had about 30 all together and it rained that day so some of my plans were changed, like letting the kids play with the train whistles. I decorated my door with lots of balloons and put a sign welcome to haydens station track #2. as they entered in the door I had a table for the presents. it was a short but long table perfect for turning into a train. out of construction paper I made a Thomas (blue poster paper taped to short side of tables end, white circle cut out put in center with face drawn on for Thomas, black paper for smoke stack, with a little message package depot, crepe paper coming out from under the table for train tracks.) I got a Thomas the train cut out paper train book off ebay and had a train station as a center piece for a table. on my kitchen table I had all the party ware from birthday express. and I ordered some direct from Thomas store off the computer. for decoration on table I had two bouquets of Thomas the tank balloons, a train track out of crepe paper with a Thomas 3d train, and miniature tracks made out of liquorice. I made party hats off the computer. the cake was a flat cake with a round cake as Thomas face, cake was just like invitations. I served individual packs of Oreo cookies, and ice cream cups less stress for me and Kool-Aid bottles. my son opened his gifts then everyone got a ziplock bag with a message thanks for coming to my party your present was right on track. and then I pulled strings from the pinata which was Thomas the train, found at Wal-Mart. they put the candy in the bags. as everyone left they got a goodie bag, party treats ordered from birthday express, a Thomas plastic cup, and some train safety bookmarks and color books, got from local train station. it was a very easy and stress free party for a two year old. the rain did not delay our good time. everyone tooted their whistles on the way to the car.
