After a trip to Disney World our little girl was in love with Tinkerbell. She kept saying she wanted a Tinkerbell birthday party. Since she was only turning 2 I wasn't sure how
much we could do to incorporate this theme, but it turned out great. The invitation-
I took pictures of Ella in a purple and lime green tutu that I made. She wore a lime green tank top and lime green fairy wings with it. I created an invitation using 2 of the pics of Ella and Tinkerbell clip art. The wording was When you wish upon a star your dreams will take you very far. Our fairy princes has one wish to make that you will come and celebrate. Fly on over to attend a 2nd birthday party for Ella. Then party details were listed. Costumes- Ella wore her tutu to the party. I had her tank top embellished with rhinestones that said birthday girl. She wore her wings and a pair of green satin Tinkerbell shoes we got at Toys R Us. We got different colored tutus wings and fairy shoes for all the little girls at the party. For the boys we had pirate hats and eye patches. We didn't really do much else with the pirate theme but I thought it went ok and it gave us something for the boys. I even bought a purple tinkerbell t-shirt at Wal-Mart to wear to the party. Decorations- We decided to have the party in our backyard. So to direct everyone to go down the sidewalk and through the gate instead of through the house I painted signs that said this way to Pixie Holllow. Follow your star this way. and Fly this way. They were all painted with lime green and purlple and covered in glitter. Then over the gate we made another glittered sign that said welcome to Pixie Hollow. This hung above the gate like a banner that the guests walked under. I then had them walk through an archway that was covered in greenery and silk flowers. We had 2 small canopies set up in the back yard with tables under them. These were decorated with big glittered paper flowers hanging down from the top and vines made out of green paper. We did the same thing with the vines and flowers under the patio. I drew and cut out 2 life size Tinkerbell cutouts and painted them. They were hanging under the patio along with tons of other poster I painted that said Happy Birthday to Our Little Fairy. Ella is 2! Our fairy is 2 Cute! etc. For the tables I bought lime green table cloths. I also bought 3 yards of a purple fabric with Tink on it at Wal Mart. I used the green table clothes and then cut squares out of the fabric with pinking sheers. I placed the fabric squares on the center of each table. I had some tara cotta pots from a previous party. I spray painted them lime green. I filled them with foam and irridescent tissue paper. I then stuck green skewers in the pots that had purple glittered flowers cut out of paper glued on the end of the skewer. Cake- This was the easiest part. I actually found a precious cake at a local grocery store bakery. It was 2 layers with a stream going from the top layer to the bottom layer. It had a Tinkerbell figurine on it. Lots of green and purple flowers. Everyone went on about how cute it was. Food- We served pizza (cheap and easy). We also broke out our margarita maker and made PIXIE punch slushes for everyone. I just bought the gallon jugs of green punch at Wal-Mart. They were great the kids loved this since it was so hot. Activities- We rented a purple castle bounce house. I taped a big cut out of Tink flying with a wand above the entrance to the bouncer. It reminded us of Tink flying over the castle at Disney World. The kids also did pixie art! I colored sugar and put it in bowls. I bought some little bottles that you use for sand art and they filled them with their "pixie dust". They loved this. Most kids made several! I got the Tinkerbell sound track and had it playing throughout the party. Favors- We just used purple treat bags I put a pack of Tinkerbell fruit snacks some Tink stickers and some pixie sticks and tied them up with purple and green ribbon. Great Party she has already said she wants a Snow White party next year! "
