Party Supplies

For my son's 3rd birthday he wanted a Toy Story themed party. I began by taking his picture in a woody costume he had used for halloween. I got brown paper bags from my local grocery store and cut those out to invitation size, I glued his picture in front and used a bandana border around it. On the inside I included pictures of some of the characters (his toys) along with the details about the party. I also made the envelopes from brown paper bags and bandana paper. For the food we had pizza rolls, mini corndogs, finger sandwiches, fruit kabobs, chips & dips. For the cake I again took his picture dressed as woody and placed all his Toy story characters around him, I took my picture to the local Target and had it copied onto edible paper, I then made my cake (in white)and placed it on there myself, I used gold frosting to do a rope border around.I also purchased large Toy Story confetti and glued each one onto toothpicks, I used these to decorate chocolate cupcakes. His birthday is in May so we were able to play outdoor games and get wet ( I put this on the invitations so guests would be prepared). We did an alien toss (like hot potato) I purchased a green car sponge and painted it to look like the alien and the kids tossed it around (wet)when the music was turned up and then when it was turned off the one who stayed with it was out. We also had water guns for the kids to blast each other like Buzz lightyear. They were also able to hit a Woody pinata filled with candy & little green soldiers. For the indoor games I drew a large Mr. Potato Head on a poster board and drew each body part seperate, each kid would chose a body part, get blind folded then try to place the body part correctly, it was funny to see Mr. Potato head look so silly. These were all laminated so my son's still playing with it today! Also, my son has all of the small toy story characters, so I had previously made up some cards with a picture of each character (4 per card) and made around 6 cards. I then hid the toys around the house while the kids were outside, then each kid had to "rescue" the toys pictured on their card for a prize--Everyone wins!! The kids were given Toy Story goody boxes (I purchased on ebay) and a coloring book I made from internet coloring book pages and I also included some pictures of my son playing with and dressed up as woody and Buzz that I had turned into coloring book pages. All the kids seemed to have a blast, especially my son and I received many compliments on the decorataions and games.
