My sons third birthday was a Buzz Lightyear party. The invitations read Buzz Lightyear of Star Command here.  IÆd like to invite you to a special celebration for Space Cadet  Micah. Dress as your favorite toy! We had some really unique costumes, Buzz, Woody, Stinky Pete, Bo Peep, Wheezie, Jessie, and even Mr. Potato Head. They were all really clever and made with stuff they already had. I made ôpizza planetö signs for the kitchen and served pizza and a veggie tray.   At game time, we divided into teams and each team was told they were to receive a special surprise in the team bag.  However, inside the bag was a note from Prospector Pete saying he had stolen the goods and the teams would have to complete some special tasks to take a ôswingö at the prize.  Each team had to do ôpin the nose on Mr. Potato Headö, then a simple bean bag toss into a basket, and lastly, ôthe Clawö.  This game was accomplished by using a large clear container and some kitchen tongs. I had purchased a ôlotö of Toy Story themed Happy Meal toys on ebay (10 for 99 cents) and included some crazy straws. The kids took turns trying to pick up a toy with the tongs. Taking a swing at the pi±ata was the final prize.  For the pi±ata, I purchased a ôspace shuttleö pi±ata, removed the flags and added pictures of Buzz Lightyear and some green streamers. The cake was a triple layer chocolate cake with BuzzÆ spaceship on top.  It was a great party.
