Toy story 2 - Jessie - 5 yr old party. For her 5th birthday party my daughter requested a Jessie party. As we are in Ghana it is not that easy to get birthday things but we made do. Birthday parties are a main form of attraction/entertainment here so you always have to cater for a lot of children (and adults). As it is always warm parties can be held outside all year round. I made a Jessie pull-string pinata and a Woody pinata. We played the 'claw game' - I put plastic toys in a bucket filled with water and the kids all took a turn to get a toy with a pair of tongs. We went on a treasure hunt searching for gold (gold chocolate coins) in Stinky Pete's gold mine. I drew a big Mr Potato Head, stuck it on a cardboard box and cut a big hole where his mouth is - the kids then threw little bean bags into his mouth. We also had other fun things that kids like such as water balloons; bubbles; tattoos; crazy string; and they swam in two big paddle pools. My daughter coloured in a picture of Jessie which I laminated and put on top of a big rectangle cake along with some other pictures of Woody, Bullseye etc which I had downloaded from the Disney site. I used such pictures to stick on brown paper lunch bags to make the party bags. I would have liked to try some other suggestions I had seen on the site but it would have been difficult with so many kids. Everyone had a super time!
