For my son, Collin's, third birthday party we decided on the theme of Toy Story 2. We had just been to Disney World and he was very in to Buzz Lightyear, so this was the perfect theme for his birthday party. For the invitations I used clipart (found on the internet) of buzz and woody.  The front of the invitation stated Woody and Buzz invited you to a rootin' tootin', far out party! I also had a picture of Woody and Buzz on the front. The inside said--For:  Space comader Collin D----  Place: Sector 12 address, date, time, etc. I used buzz lightyear stickers to decorated the outside of the envelopes.  For decorations I used blue, lime green and yellow balloons, streamers, and curly ribbon. We had a local flower shop blow up lots of helium balloons and we placed them everywhere. I also used toy story themed banners, plates, napkins, table cloth, confetti, hats, blowouts, etc. purchased at my local party supply store. I printed out toy story coloring pages off the internet. I used a copy machine to blow up the images.  I colored them with markers, cut them out and glued them onto foam boards.  Using an x-acto knife I cut them out and made stands for each one.  I used them as centerpieces and decorations.  They included Woody, Buzz, Jessie, Bullseye, Ham, Slink, Rex, 5 aliens, and 6 soldiers.  I also made copies of the coloring pages and made coloring books for the birthday guests. I made a cover sheet using clipart.  The cover sheet had pictures of all characters and read COLLIN'S Toy story coloring book (I used each child's name on each of their books). The last sheet of the coloring book read Woody and Buzz thank you for coming to Collin's 3rd birthday party. And it had a picture of woody and buzz waving by.  I gave these along with small boxes of crayons as party favors. We had two games--one for the older kids and one for the babies.  For the older kids we made a poster sized print out of Mr. Potato Head with a missing arm. The background of the poster had stars and rockets and the top of the poster was the title "Pin the arm on Mr. Potato Head".  I traced his arm and made copies of it and wrote each childs name on them.  We put double sided tape on the back of the arms and blind folded the children.  The child who's arm was closest to the marked spot won. I had my mom make a blind fold out of buzz lightyear fabric. The prize for this game was a mini buzz lightyear space craft filled with candy.  For the babies I made a game called can you find buzz? Using a white poster board I cut into small strips I put stickers of zerg on all but one(the one left over I put a sticker of buzz). I then folder the strips in half and sealed them shut with planet stickers.  The babies had to pick a strip from a tin bucket(which had stickers of buzz and planets and had the words--can you find buzz?) the baby who pulled the strip with buzz on it won. The prize for this was a stuffed buzz lightyear doll.  For food we order pizza from a local pizza parlor and we told the kids that the pizza was from pizza planet.  We had caned coke for the adults and squeeze punch for the children. I ordered a buzz lightyear and woody cake and matching cup cakes from a local supermarket.  I also had buzz light year cereal for the kids to snack on.  I made Mr. Potato Head rice crispy treats.  For these I used coacoa crispy cereal, marshmallows for eyes, gum drops for ears, feet, and hands, chocolate drops for the hat, and icing for mustache, mouth and teeth. These were very easy to make and were a huge hit with the children and adults. For intertainment we had a toy story CD playing throughout the party, we had a piniata shaped like a rocket with a picture of buzz on the sides(filled with candy, army men, glowing stars, and other piniata fillers), and a buzz lightyear fun jump. I handed out empty toy story goody bags for the children to fill during the piniata game.   The birthday boy's gifts were wrapped in toy story wrapping paper. We gave him a toy box filled with toy story toys purchased at the Disney Store.  As the children left they were given goody bags filled with items that went with the theme.  I used plastic toy story cups filled with a star badge, army men, glow stars, toy story stickers, buzz lightyear fruit snacks and a few candies (for the girls I gave plastic star and glitter bracelettes instead of badge and army men).  I placed the cups in clear bags and tied them closed with blue, lime green, and yellow curly ribbon. I also made a name tag for each child to hang off the curly ribbon. For these I cut out squares from poster board, put an alien sticker and wrote the child's name with a marker, used a hole puncher to make a hole and tied them with the curly ribbon.  These were very cute. For the babies that were invited I gave them stuffed green dinosaurs or pink piggies, a bath toy, stickers and a ginger bread man snack placed in toy story goody bags. To display the coloring books, and goody bags I covered box tops with toy story wrapping paper and placed the goodies in them.  It made everything look nice and orderly. This party was a huge success and it was very cute.  Each child left with a hat, blow out, goody bag filled with candy and trinkets from the piniata, a coloring book and colors and the goody bags that I had made them.  One thing I almost forgot-- the birthday boy wore a buzz lightyear costume for the pary.  I know that this was a very lengthy discription, but I wanted to make sure I got everything in. I got many of my ideas from this web site and plan on coming to this site for all of my future parties.  I would recommend for anyone planning a child's birthday party to check this site out. Hope your Toy  Story Party is a great success!!!!!
