I sent out the invitations and asking all the kids to dress up as cowboys (Woody and Jessie) and my son dressed in his Buzz Lightyear costume. We had sheriff stars for each child and sheriff
hats.
We put them on each child when they arrived. We bought posters of Buzz, Woody and Jessie, mounted them to cut out only the characters and put them on the wall. We had the music tape playing from Toy Story 2 with the cowboy songs on it. We had a toy area with a lot of the toy story character toys (Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head, Etch a Sketch, Toy Soldiers, RC Car, Slink, Ham and Many Buzz Lightyear Toys, Woody, Jessie and Bullseye. On the first activity, the children made stick horses( I had already cut out the heads, stuffed them and attached them to the sticks) they glued the eyes, manes, ears, mouth and tied the strings on, put their names on them and they set them in one area to dry. The second activity was making Mr and Mrs. Potato heads. I had cut out the potato shapes with eyes, noses, ears, mouths, shoes, hats etc and each child made their own Mr./Mrs. Potato Head. We had hay on the patio. The next activity was sack races. We had large potato sacks for the big kids and small ones for the little one. We also had a three legged race and gave away prizes for everyone who competed. After the stick horses dried, we had stick horse races. We had Publix make a fantastic Toy Story cake and we made goodie bags with white lunch bags and put pictures on them. I found many goodies for the bags (toy soldiers, Buzz Lightyear noise maker spinner, candy) The hats, sheriff badges and their horses were all theirs to take home. ) My son had a fantastic time and all the parents talked about it for a long time.
