For the Invitations, I took a picture of my son in his Woody costume to put with the party details. We made the invitations and Toy Story envelopes with Toy Story's Print Studio on our
computer.
We also used this program to make a party banner, coloring sheets and some very large pictures of some of the characters for decorations. We held the party outside and in our barn. We got a fridge box and made a Buzz Light year space ship with it (paint, duct tape etc). We used extra cardboard to make the wings and a large Buzz to go inside it. It had a door that kids could go in and stick their head out next to Buzz. We used Toy STory plates, napkins, balloons etc. They had a 3D effect so we had 3D glasses for everyone. I used a cowbell when I wanted everyone's attention for a game or to tell them it was time to eat etc. When the party started, we gave them a cowboy/girl hat and sheriff's badge (Oriental Trading). For the first hour, we had a pony for kids to ride, face painting, 22 Toy Story beach balls (Dollar Tree)to throw around, a guessing jar filled with army men (they had to guess how many, the closest guess one a Buzz stuffed animal $5 from Kohls), Toy Story coloring sheets, jump on our moonwalk, horse shoes (plastic purchased from Dollar Tree) and Dig For Gold with Prospector. Dig For Gold With Prospector was a sandbox that had rocks painted gold hidden in it. Next, we had sandwiches, fruit, veggies, pasta salad and chips and then cake and ice cream. For the cake, I made a planet out of a small bowl shaped pan. This was the top of the cake. The middle layer was the sky (2 8 inch cakes)iced blue with white clouds, the bottom layer (2 10 cakes)was the ground iced green. We put a Buzz figure on the planet. 3 Aliens on the sky level and Jesse and Woody on the grass with Bulls Eye the horse and Zurg on the bottom. After eating we played some games. The first was freeze dance. I played a Toy Story music CD (from library) the kids danced the first one I caught moving when the music stopped had to go in our Buzz rocket. We counted 109 8...Blast Off! and then they joined the game again. After that we had a stick horse relay race. I got horses at the Dollar Tree. Next we had a cowboy boot pinata with Toy Story fruit snacks parachute army guys necklaces suckers and little horses inside. By then it was time to leave. We had water balloons ready but did not use them. I tried to take the kids' pictures on the pony and in the rocket to mail with their thank you cards. The kids each took home their cowboy hats sherriff's badges and a Toy Story beach ball plus their pinata loot. Very fun party. "
