3 year old train party
My three year old loves trains. So there was no question to what theme he wanted for his party. I made invitations on the computer with where to meet Train station #30 (our street number), Track # 3 (his age), Departure time (time party started), and to reply to the station master for the RSVP. For decorations, we made signs that said train station ahead at the top of our driveway with balloons. We had Thomas plates, napkins, and hats. Blue and red streamers. I went to the my local grocery store and got banana boxes which I covered with colored paper (red , blue, green). I bought the colored paper at the local art store. I cut the top and the bottom out of the boxes so there was just a square with two openings. When the kids arrived, the decorated their boxes like trains. We used paper plates as faces. After the trains were complete, the adults tied strings to the box through the holes already in the banana boxes so the kids could "wear" the trains. Before the party, we had drawn train tracks on our driveway with chalk. So the kids went around the tracks making train noises. We had a relay race with train related items (whistle, train coloring books ,etc) After the race, everyone chose one items to take home. We had a Thomas cake which was a sheet cake with a Thomas train on tracks on it. For party favors, we made "hobo" bags. A red bandanna filled with a train whistle, toy train, piece of chalk, and candy attached to a stick. They also took home the train they made of the party. Everyone had a wonderful time.
