Underwater Party 11 Yr. My daughter just turned 11 and had her party two weeks ago.Everyone is still talking about it!Planning began in advance. Invitation:She is an only child,so me,her and
my husband folded light blue cardstock in half and used dark blue gel pen to write,It's a Party!" on the front and draw underwater animails like fish and squid with markers.On the inside
we wrote the usual party information plusCome to a sea of fun,little school of fish!.We wrote inside with gel pen.On the back we wroteAnd...be sure to bring your
flippers!No,really.Sunscreen,towels,water bottels and pool toys!And come with a bathing suit on and a pair of dry,everyday clothes..We invited 19 kidsand everyone came. Cake:Me and my husband
made this cake.It was vanilla with those little pink and red dots(later on during the party we called them 'crabs') in the shape of a fish iced orange.Fins and other decorations like eyes
were grey. Party Snacks:We laid out a crystal blue platter with baby carrots which we called fishSpongebob Mr.Krabs gummies which we called the crabsmermaid shaped sprinkle cookieschips and
dip which we called 'the inking squids'and flower lollipops.Along with celerywhich had no cute little name. Costume:My daughter wore normal clothing along with just a little mermaid
fin-like skirt.And a Birthday Girl tiara. Decorations:Outside-Outside we put up a little dinosaur kiddy pool which was 2 feet tall and 6 feet wideenough space for almost everybody at once.But
we went 3 at a time.It was filled to the top.Next we had a little sandbox with pails and shovelsbeach balls and little squishy squids.There was a hook by the door with those little flower
necklacesalong with a sign to the left of it sayingTake ONE with an arrow. Inside-Insideright infront of the doorwe had a little 'ocean' everybody had to walk through.It was simple three
underwater themed shower curtains with animails hung up.Hard to explain.Anywayswe had blue streamersclear balloonsorange balloonsand the table had red fishnet allover it from orange bagsa red
tableclothalong with the platter and plain blue napkins and cups but hula girl plates.We served waterblue punch and orange soda.Forgot that in Party Snacks.We had little plastic hula girls
and flamingos every here and there.Red orange fishnet on the TV.A Spongebob DVD playing on TV and ocean sounds music in the music player. Activities AND Games:Once everybody got there we
allowed them to get settledput their gifts and their 'things' down.And watch the Spongebob DVD until everybody got there.Next we sprang into action! Relaxation-We went outside and
everybodyboys and girlstook turns in the kiddy pool and the sandbox.15 minutes for a group of 3 at each onewith 19 kids.It sure took awhilebut was fun for them!Ohmy daughter and husband
helped set those up. Presents-Next we opened presents.Lots of underwater themed ones AND wrapping paperwhich my daughter loved!She is obsessed with the seasea animailsetc! Jellyfishing-Each
person got a butterfly neta big one.And like in Spongebobthey got to go jellyfishing wearing black geek glasses!They loved this and it was probably a favorite.Their jellyfishes?The balloons!
Pin The Skirt On The Hula Girl-We had a hula girl poster.We hung it upcut out the skirt.Made copies of the skirt.Each person got one try.The closest was exactly where the originial skirt
was!No prizesbecause they may make others feel left out. Dinner & Cake-Next we ate dinnerwhich was pineapple pizza!Everyone's favorite.Dessert was the cake and orange sherbert. Hula
Dancing-I turned up the ocean sounds CD and the kids(even the boys!) all had to hula dance as well as possible.Fun times! Fishy-My daughter has a pet goldfish.Everyone had to guess by its
movementsor face what it was thinking.There were some hilarious thoughts! More Relaxation-Since it was a big hitthey took turns with the kiddy pool and sandbox again. Coloring-We had them
color in some underwater themed pages! Then it was time to goaww.But while the kids were waiting to be picked upthey watched Spongebob again! Favors:Everyone got a clear sparkly bucket with
Spongebob gummiesgoggles for seeing underwatertheir very own pet goldfish(A real fish!Awwthey loved this!)a premade Thank You card with pictures from the party insideand finally a
little plastic hula doll for girls and a plastic crab for boys. It was such a huge hit!"
