hI !I HAD AN ARIEL MERMAID UNDER THE SEA PARTY FOR MY 4 YEAR OLD AND MY TWO YEAR OLD (THEIR BDAY IS 5 DAYS APART).I STARTED TWO MONTHS AHEAD OF TIME ..I USED BACARDI BREEZER BOTLES AS THEY WERE A CUTE SHAPE WASHED THEM THOROUGHLY AND FILLED THEM SAND PURPLE BLUE AND GREEN GLITTER CONFETTI AND TINY SEA SHELLS..ON TOP I USED A GLASS MARKER AND DREW TWO FISHES ON EITHER SIDE OF THE BOTTLE LOOKING AS THOUGH THEY WERE CHASING EACH OTHER AND PAINTED THEM BLUE AND RED AND THEN I USED GLITTER TO MAKE THEM LOOK SHINY.PLUS I ALSO STUCK ALL SEA ANIMALS STICKERS ON THEM THEN I INSERTED A HAND MADE ARIEL cutout made ahead took me ages(COLOURED GLITTERED OUTLINED WITH A GLASSMARKER AGAIN) AND I WROTE A POEM BEHIND HER "MERMAID ANAIRA TURNS 4,WONT U JOIN HER ON THE OCEAN FLOOR?AN UNDER THE SEA ADVENTURE U WILL FIND,IF U ARRIVE PROMPTLY ON TIME,IT WAS A LONG ONE SO I WONT WRITE IT ALL DOWN BUT I USED WORDS LIKE WE WILL HAVE A WHALE OF A TIME AND SWIM ON OVER ETC..EVERYONE LOVED IT!hard work but worth it!  FOR DECORATION I COVERED MY TINY 9 FEET BY 9 FEET BALCONY(7TH FLOOR APARTMENT TOPMOST FLOOR)WHICH IS ALL GRILLED UP AND COVERED EVERY INCH WITH BLUE BALLOONS THE WIND MADE THEM LOOK LIKE WAVES IT LOOKED LOVELY..THEN I USED LOOFAHS WHICH I OPENED UP THEY LOOK LIKE A NET AND STUCK ALL MY KIDS FISHY TOYS DUCKS,FISH,OCTUPUS ETC AND HUNG THEM ON THE WALLS PLUS USED ALL MY BLUE COLOR STOLES TO HANG LIKE WAVES..ON THE SIDES OF WALLS.ON THE FLOOR I GOT A SEA SIDE TABLE CLOTH BLUE WITH SEA SHELLS FISH SHAPES ETC AND PUT IN A LOT OF FILLED UP POOLS ONE I KEPT DRY BUT FULL OF SOFT BALLS AND SMALL BALLOONS FOR BABIES AND THE KIDS USED THE SLIDE TO GET IN AND SPLASH I DECORATED MY KIDS ROOM WHICH WAS ADJACENT TO THE BALCONY WITH ARIEL PRINCESS BALLOONS AND I MADE A HUGE ARIEL ON THE ROCKS WHICH COVERED AN ENTIRE WALL OUT OF REAL CANVAS(MY DADS AN ARTIST)WITH OIL PAINTS (TOOK HIM TWO MONTHS)AND ON THE OTHER WALLS I HAD MADE THE ENTIRE ARIEL DRAWN OUT STORY USING THE DISNEY ARIEL BOOK AND STUCK EACH PICTURE AFTER CUTTING IT OUT ON A SQUARE CHART PAPER EDGED WITH BLACK DUCTTAPE SO IT LOOKED LIKE A FRAME( TOOK ME TWO MONTHS TOO ..AND I ALSO MADE PANELLING TOO OF ARIEL SEBASTION AND FLOUNDER AND STUCK THEM ALTERNATELY ON SMALL SQUARES ALSO EDGED WITH BLACK DUCT TAPE SO THE WHOLE ROOM WAS  EDGED WITH PANELLING APART FROM THE STORY ON ONE SIDE AND ARIEL ON HER ROCK ON THE OTHER THE ROOM IT LOOKED AMAZING (I STILL HAVENT REMOVED IT)EVERYONE WAS AMAZED..LOTS OF WORK! I HAD A FISH MOVING LAMP WHICH I LEFT ON THE CHEST OF DRAWERS And all the ariel stuff out but put away all her other toys..it looked lovely for the dining table deco my friend kavya used a tiny ariel( which comes with her under the sea castle which was our bday gift for our daughter) sit on a few big pebbles stuck together with double sticking tapelooking like rocks which i placed in a big pie glass bowl with blue coloured water for a sea effect and we stuck anemones and weed like plants and since the castle pack had eric sebastion flounder plus a boat i made eric sit on his boat and threw in flounder in the "sea" plus tiny sea shells and pebbles it looked great i have a round table a big one so i used crepe paper in blue and purple and made a skirt around the table and made light blue chart paper fish shaped table mats with fish stickers and on sea shell shaped(thankully had a set)bowls i put assorted fish crackers whale crackers..the table looked great and the icing on the cake was ofcourse the cake i gave my ariel barbie disney doll to the baker who made a doll cake complete with sea shells and blue green coloring my daughter loved it inside was strawberry cream it was the best cake ever !since the party was a lunch one it was italian.. for food i made ofcourse sea shell pasta in chicken tettrazini sauce served on a seas shell dish.. fettucine the green one in white sauce with sausages seas shell cutter was used for the cheese cutlets sea shell shaped sugar cookies coloured blue and green and used icing writers to draw fishes on them fried chicken all bell peppers combined with chicken in a tangy sauce potato wedges spanish rice with mushrooms jelly in purple blue and red  pineapple cream trifle pudding the food was a great hit since i used the theme m and name tgs to indicate too .."sea weed pasta" for the fettucine etc etc.. my daughters wore the ariel costume i had a friend radhika make it for them green lycra sequined skirts like a mermaid s tail and purple sequined halter top for bras and red ribbons braided into their hair for the red hair look since they are brunettes..they looked so good everyone wanted to know where i got the costiumes... for the banners plates and glasses i could only get ariel glasses since i hear they hve been discontinued i bought nemo plates and banners which anyway have lots of sea animals on them and napkins were plain pink and purple ones i used the ariel glassesas pails instead and got my sister kausar to use thin wires to make holes on either siude and put the wite thru and make them into pails which i filled with fish shaped chocolates,plain chocs in a wrapper which was decorated like a fish,sweet and sour fish candy,gummy worms,fish golden crackers and any candy resemebling fishes they looked great and kids loved the unusual treats inside. for activities apart from the pools which took up their time i played the ariel movie both the parts while they were waiting for other kids  i also had lots of extraa arielscutouts the invitation ones made out the size of an arm i got my sis to make cutouts of all sea life   i used thermocol edged with black duct tape to be used as frames and backing like a photoframe so that kids could stick the ariels on it and decorate it so kids had a grand time after the pools decorating the frames with blue glitter and painiting sea waves with blue paints and stuck ariels on them i also stuck double sticking tape at the back so that they could use these art works for their walls.. so kids went back with all of this plus the coloures cutouts,pail of goodies plus their favours which were swimming pool floaters disney ones ariel woodden photoframes,a handmade by me sea shell necklace with shells and pearls,sunglasses,glitter pencils ariel erasers..all the kids were 4 yrs old got the above there were four 6 yr old girls who got ariel clocks,the kids could barely carry back their goodies. having done this and planned months in advance really helped me plus kept the cash flow low and steady so i didnt feel the pinch..needless to say it was a huge hit coz where we live people rarely do any theme party..next year i will keep it simple ....i would like to add i love this site..am planning a disco party net year please give me good ideas..
