Veggie Tales (3yr)
My son loves Veggie Tales so we decided to have that be the theme. We bought the invitations, paper products, thank yous from the Family Bookstore. I purchased green, red and yellow balloons and streamers and used them to decorate our deck. When the children arrived, we sang some children's songs, then we moved on to vegetable stamping. We used potatoes, celery, broccoli, and an onion. (The broccoli and onion made great impressions.) We covered the children with make shift smocks made out of plastic garbage bags. We used acrylic paints and had wipes on hand to quickly clean up hands and arms. We had cake and snow-cones. The cake was decorated to look like Bob and Larry. The snow cones were a big hit. I would suggest shaving the ice ahead of time. That took a long time! We then moved inside to play Pin the Nose on Bob. At this age we just had them close or cover their own eyes and walk toward the poster. The favor bags contained a Veggie Tale book, Veggie Character coin purse, various veggie stickers (all purchased at CBD.com), lip whistles (after the song 'I love my lips'), a safety sucker, and tied with a bright colored latex balloon filled with helium. (We gave the smaller siblings that attended a Fisher Price rattle.)
