My daughter who was turning 4 was obsessed with cowboys/cowgirls and horses, so we decided to have a Western birthday. I bought western print paper from the scrapbook section of the craft
store and then scanned it on the computer and printed off the # I needed in color ink, the invitations read... Howdy partners, Morgan is turning 4 and we are gathering up all our favorite
buckaroos to help us celebrate. We're roundin' up at the Grays corral in the Fairfax Rd. territory on July 7th at 4pm.
Give us a holler at \*\*\*-\*\*\*\*. Sure hope you can do-si-doe on over for some boot stompin' fun. Don't forget to dress for the west. Yee Haw! At the party I gave out bandanas, we had several stations set up for the kids to play at. We had horseshoes, pony rides, a shooting gallery with squirt guns and plastic cowboys, there was a branding station, we made vests out of paper sacks then used paint and western shapes sponges for branding. We also had a roping station, we used a big plastic horse and a rope (for the smaller kids I tied a rope on a hula hoop), we also panned for gold, I just threw some sand in the plastic pool and threw in pennies! We also passed out lootbags(paper lunch sacks) to catch the candy from the pinata, this also served as the take home goody bag. To eat we had a good ol fashioned wiener roast, baked beans, potato salad, chips, fruit, and wagon wheel pasta! For the cake, it was in the shape of a boot. We also had a soda saloon set up. We decorated with hats bandanas, checkered print table cloths, and to welcome everyone to the back yard there was a Welcome to Morgans Ranch, sign. Everyone's favorite decoration was the Wanted Poster. I took a brown paper bag, burnt the edges to make it look rugged and took a picture of her dressed in western wear and had it made into a black and white photo, then we just made up funny things like Wanted for eating to much candy, having a messy room, etc. We had 75 people of all ages, everyone had a great time and the best part is we did all of that for $100. Morgan is already asking if we can do it again next year.
