JACK FROST/Winter "One"derland
For my son's (Jack) first birthday, we created a winter 'one'derland in our house. Since we live in the South, the chances of snow fall were slim so we rented an artificial snow machine (snowmasters.com). The snow machine was a 3 ft. snowman so he also served as a prop for each child's picture to take home. We bought packs of 100 doilles from the dollar store and our 4 yr old cut custom snowflakes out of them. We hung these from yarn at different lengths on the screened porch for the little ones to play with between snow showers. For the cake, we made (3) round cakes of different sizes, iced with white icing and iridescent sparkles. A couple twigs from the backyard were his arms and fruit roll ups & licorice made a great scarf! Other snacks were ice cream cups, marshmallows and pretzels (build a snowman and then get to eat him) and hot cocoa!
