The best party I have ever planned was for my daughters fifth birthday. She chose a Wizard of Oz theme. We purchased the party ware from Birthday in a box. We started about a month ahead
of time planning. She invited 25 kids.
We had a lot of fun games, pin the heart on the tin man, where I used a big piece of card board to draw a tin man in which I painted it silver, and purchased sticky red felt, and cut out hearts and put each guests name on it. Blind folded the guest and let them stick the hearts on. The next game was a witch hat toss, where we used a witch hat,and made tin foil rings. We also had broom races. The punch was made with lime sorbet, and sprite, and ginger-ale which had a bubble effect, in the center I floated a witch hat which appeared to be her melting. We then had a Dorothy cake with the rainbow and fence. The snacks were Haystacks {scarecrow}they were made out of butterscotch morsels and Chinese noodles. The decorations was a yellow brick road and a huge castle I made from card board. The party favors were made out of lunch sacks lined with blue gingham checked material. Inside there was a bag of skittles[taste the rainbow] Wizard of Oz stickers, color sheets rolled up like diplomas, and Kool-Aid straws[scarecrow].The lunch sacks were cut in half and I made a handle out of the top which made it look like a basket. McKenzie's birthday was a huge success the parents were trying to rent me for their child's next party. The kids are only little once, and planning is half the fun good luck.
