We through a Wizard of Oz birthday party for my 2-year old daughter. She was dressed in the Dorothy costume from Warner Brothers & red glitter shoes from Target. I found a basket at Garden Ridge for 98 cents, tied blue gingham ribbon on each edge of the handle, and she carried around Toto, also from Warner Brothers Store. I stenciled yellow chalk on our sidewalk to the front door.  We had the Wicked Witch of the East's legs at the threshold that each guest had to step over.  It is a door draft-dodger with legs attached, also from Warner Brothers.   The cake was made at a local bakery.  It was the Emerald City and the yellow brick road.  I put Warner Brother's small plastic characters on the yellow brick road.  We served "yellow" lemonade and "munchkin" munchies.  I had signs that I printed out from my computer including words to a few songs. We played pin the tail on Toto.  We made an A-Z list of The Wizard of Oz things. Each person had to name something in the movie that began with the next letter of the alphabet. We sang the songs. We had the movie playing upstairs so that we could hear it in the background. Our invitations were printed on the computer with a scene of the four on the yellow brick road inviting them to Oz. We painted a mural of the same scene on the playroom wall as a gift to our daughter.    Our thank you notes included Dorothy's picture saying that you're the best friends anyone ever had. We included a cutout of tin foil in the shape of tin man's face, a piece of straw, and brown felt.  We also included a picture of our daughter dressed up as Dorothy.
