On my 10th birthday I had the best party ever. It was a Wizard of Oz party. For the invitations I found ones that had Dorothy and Toto on the front. We also got paper plates and napkins that matched the invitations. I said you could dress up if you want and most people did. I was Dorothy, and I wore red sequin shoes, a dress like Dorothy, and a basket with a beanie baby that looked like Toto. We used black tights and stuffed them with newspaper and put them under the couch with the red shoes on the feet. It looked like the couch had fallen on the wicked witch. For snacks I had a cake that was white with cyclones on the side, and when you cut the cake it was colored inside. Just like the movie when it went from black and white to color. We watched the Wizard of Oz, and whenever they say were off to see the wizard everyone gets up and links arms and skips around the room, and every time you see the good witch you blow bubbles (you can get them cheap at a Osco or Target) . After the movie was over we played a game called hearts, brains and courage. You have to have 3 sacks with each a label on it (hearts, brains and courage). Everyone needs 3 pieces of paper and a pen. In the hearts sack you put something you love (ice skating, parents, etc.) In the brains sack you put something you're good at and in the courage sack you put something you're afraid of. When everyone puts the appropriate slip of paper in the right sack you draw 1 out of the sack. Then you read aloud and you try to guess who wrote it. When you figure it out the person who wrote it they get to pull 1 out next and on and on until there is none left. This is a great party and a lot of fun!
