Mulan oriental party: This year for my daughter maya's 5the birthday party I had a mulan oriental party wich I thought it would be a different thing to do. The invitations were chinese
paper fans. A silver pen or gold pen is needed to make the fans look fancy. Write on the fans the information about the party name, time, place, phone number and what its been celebrated.
I decorated the backyard with with chinese lanters bright balloons and chinese dragons. I hung the chinese dragons with fish wire across the yard so they looked like they were flying. For the childrens table I bough fish bowls and filled them up with white rocks (the kind that you use for fish tanks) and also bought the bamboo plant sticks and put one on each side of the table I made table placemats with mulans pictures that I got from the internet. I printed them out and I laminated the pictures so if water spilled they wont get ruined. I decorated the other tables for the adults with bright colors tablecloths and for centerpieces I bought white artificial orchids (may be purchase at .99cents store or discounted stores ) place inside the fishbowls with white rocks and balloons tied to the fishbowl ... For food we served chinese food and for sweets I purchased fortune cookies and almonds cookies and some chop sticks. Because I could not find mulan stuff I went ahead and printed pictures of mulan and placed them all over the back yard... For the kids I got the to go chinese boxes and I glued a picture of the mulan dragon outside the boxed and place chinese yoyos and other treats ..like chinese fans for the girls and inflatable swords for the boys.. I also made with chopsticks candy shishkabobs that the kids loved because they had nothing but gummy candies and wrapped in plastic with a ribbon tied. We also games like to see who can pick up beans with chopsticks and place them in bowls in one minute and who ever had the most was the winner. We also had a game where the kids stand on the starting line and with chopsticks they are to carry a balloob all the way to the finish line without dropping it --we also had a pinata and cake that was decorated with chinese dragons! the kids had a lot of fun and they experience a different kind of birthday party.
