Traveling party- INVITES- try to keep the amount of people small. I made passports out of black and white construction paper. Inside it told the party greeting- "Come help celebrate
Adam's 5th birthday around the world." Then as the guests arrived I asked for their passports (invitations) and took each guests' picture with a poloroid camera. I then taped the picture
to the passports.I told them to keep their passports with them where ever they went. We headed down to the basement. The kids were surprised to find that the basement looked EXACTLY like an
airplane (first class) I put chairs in two long rows of 16 seperated by 2. I placed small pillows on the seats for comfort on the "plane" I told the kids to sit and relax on their
plane ride to South Africa. While the kids were in the "plane" My babysitter, Amy, was decorating the house like South Africa. She put pictures of animals everywhere and made the
place look great. Since the decorating of "South Africa" took a while, the kids watched movies on the plane. I was the Captain of the plane. My part of the plane was seperated from
the kids by a Baby Safe gate. I had a helper walk around with a plate of kid beverages- milk, choc. milk, orange juice, juiceboxes etc. and cookies. We finally arrived to South Africa. (Amy
told me she was done) The kids got off the plane and began their observing. The kids were supposedly going on a tour of South Africa. When they got off the plane i took their passports and
wrote inside "South Africa" I handed each child binoculars, a notebook and a pencil. Everything was in our yard to make things more real. I gave the kids some history about South
Africa while on our tour. Then the kids played games relative to South Africa. We went back on the plane and went to Paris, China, and India. We did the same thing for each place we visited.
The last stop was back to our house. The kids then had a different type of food from each place that we went to. I told the kids that I picked up a few different things from each place.
Paris- Crepes China-Chinese food India- Rice pudding South Africa- this was a hard one so i purchased $1 stuffed animals. We then had cake and ice cream and while the kids waited for parents
they gathered around for some movies. It was a BLAST!!! Have fun!
