We held Madison's 2nd Birthday at the local Zoo. Invitations looked like tickets. The top of the invite read "Admit One to Madison's Zoo Birthday Party" Then we photoshoped a
photo of our daughter so that she had the ears/trunk of an elephant. Under the photo was the party information (date, time, etc.)
We met at the covered park area next to the Zoo. The kids played and enjoyed cake/ice cream and presents. We had the cake/presents part first because of the kids ages. 2 year olds are unpredictable and we knew some kids would be ready to leave the zoo before others. That way when the kids were ready to leave the zoo, they could do so. The party was over when they wanted it to be. The cake was decorated to look like a zoo, with small animals I found at the dollar store. It was really cute! Once at the Zoo each family (parents came with their kids) were given a scavenger hunt list. It had things like "Zoo Entrance" and "Giraffe" on it. The first to spot everytone won a price (small toy set of binoculars). Goodie bags were filled with animal beanbag toys, stickers and animal crackers. It was a great time for all!
