Ballerina's Ballet Party

The Ultimate Ballet Experience Birthday Party  This party can be altered to meet the age and development of the birthday child.

The invitations ask the children to wear white leotard, tights, and any color pants, ballet slippers or comfortable shoes. As the children arrive, they are given a pink tu tu to go change into. My sister in law happens to be a professional ballerina, she came to the party in full make-up and costume.  The girls were all given an easy ballet lesson.  My sister in law performed a brief number from the nutcracker-it was beautiful.  The girls were mesmerized.

Each girl had their picture taken with the ballerina and the photo was mailed to them in the thank you card. The setting was all pink.  The ceiling was full of pink and white ballons with long ribbons coming down.  When the girls were having their lesson, it looked so pretty  with them dancing through the ribbon.

We had a ballerina slipper pinata filled with plastic rings, glittery lip gloss, and an assortment of pink candies. We served lunch tea party style.  We had ballerina themed plates and napkins, pink plastic tea cups, and pink cutlery.

We served sherbert punch, tea sandwhiches cut into the shape of a ballet slipper with a cookie cutter, warm berrry muffins with jam and an assortment of chopped fruit with pastel colored toothpicks to present it.  I ordered a ballerina slipper shaped cake with pink frosting, I put little ballerina figurines on it to create a dance scene.  We also had vanilla/strawberry ice cream.

For favor bags, I used pink gift bags. I used my print shop to print out business size cards saying" Thank you for coming to Juliana's birthday party"  I tied the card to the bag handle with tulle. I put their pinata treats, and other goodies including pink ballet slipper sugar cookies in the bags. Before each child left I tied a pink balloon to each of the bags to close it.

The girls were either on a sugar high, or still in a dream world when they left.  This party was so much fun to plan and carry out.  I'm not over it, I want to throw it again! The nice thing is that when the thank you cards go out with the child's photo posing with the ballerina, they get to experience it again.  Yeh!
