White Chic Party - White Rose Carnations
Annette in Bishop, CA, USA
My daughter turns 16 this year, and she decided that she wanted a white" party. She also had two request - dancing being a main focus and all guests in white.
We are holding the party at our house in the late evening. We have a large property and putting it over the dance floor.
I am adding Christmas icicle lights all around the carport. Also adding several "kissing" balls of white flowers pearls and crystal strands suspended from the carport ceiling. Tables will be covered in white linen with a runner of iridescent fabric.
The centerpieces are tall vases slender vases I got in the floral dept. of our grocery store. They will be filled with pearl strands clear fish marbles baby's breath and little lights that go inside balloons (these can be adjusted to either flash or stay on).
At the top of each vase I got from the craft store bouquet holders and will be filling with white roses carnations and baby's breath. We have an internet "radio" services that we can customize based off of genre and artists (and no commercials) that will be the DJ for the night.
Her invitations we created on the computer: white vellum with a font downloaded off the internet. We created a special touch for the envelopes by threading an iridescent ribbon on the flap tied a bow and added a flat "pearl" button. I am making her cake: 3-tier topsy turvy cake with handmade xxxl fondant pearls rock candy "diamonds" and gum paste flowers spilling off the cake.
Keeping in mind the white theme and not wanting to feel guilty about any clothes being stained - I will be serving a white finger food buffet. There are actually a lot of items out there to select from: cauliflower jicama bananas (no peel) white peaches (no skin) pear apples saltines white cheddar anything popcorn dips ect.
I am going to make a non alcholic champagne punch plus have clear sodas and flavored waters.
The party favors are clear rock candy sticks champagne jelly beans life-savors sweetmints mini marshmellows and a starbucks gift card all in chinese take out boxes decorated with ribbon roses we made and ribbons.
My daughter is making ribbon rose corsages for the girls and boutonnieres for the guys to wear during the party."
